MEET THE DOCTORs
Dr. Jenny Tran was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. She attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. After graduating, Dr. Tran practiced in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for a few years before returning Tennessee to be closer to family.
Dr. Tran is dedicated to providing gentle, compassionate care for her patients. She understands that many people feel anxious about dental visits, so she aims to create a judgment-free environment. She listens to each patient's concerns and takes care to ensure that her patients fully understand the treatments options available to them and make informed decisions on their care.
Outside of the office Dr. Tran enjoys staying active with Pilates, running, and playing pickle ball with family. Her favorite food is sushi and boba.
Dr. Michael Vaughan joins Serenity Dental with a passion for treating anxious patients and providing sedation dentistry. A former classmate of Dr. Teresa Larkins, he brings over 30 years of experience from his successful cosmetic and general practice in Hillsboro Village.
Originally from Knoxville, Dr. Vaughan earned a degree in economics from Vanderbilt University before pursuing dentistry, inspired by his aunt’s enthusiasm for the profession. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1991 and completed a hospital residency at Vanderbilt in 1993. He practiced alongside Drs. Robert Elam and Bill Knox, earned fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry in 1999, and was inducted into the International College of Dentists in 2021.
Dr. Vaughan has led mission trips to Nashville, Mexico, Honduras, and Brazil—where he met his wife, Carla. They married in 2011 and now live in Mt. Juliet. In his free time, he enjoys running, cycling, hiking, whitewater rafting, and playing with his three grandchildren. Helping others grow in faith, reach their goals, and smile with confidence brings him great joy.

Shayne
Shayne graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1994 with a degree in dental hygiene. She has been with Serenity Dental since 2001. She truly love her job and would not change her profession for anything.
She has been married to my best friend since 1995. Together they have a teenage daughter and a son that keep them very busy. They love spending time together as a family as well as swimming, camping, and various church activities.

Heather
Heather graduated from Tennessee State University in 1999 with a degree in Dental Hygiene and has worked in general dentistry ever since. When not working, she and her husband stay busy with outdoor activities and travel.

Kelsey
Kelsey graduated from Hiawassee College in 2015 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Previously worked as a Dental Assistant as well. She loves being able to teach her patients how to take better care of themselves starting with their oral hygiene.
Kelsey is married to her best friend. When not working, they enjoy hiking and traveling together
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Tina
Tina earned her certifications in Dental Assisting, Radiology, Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, and Coronal Polishing from Memphis Area Vocational Technical School. She later completed Expanded Functions in Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.
With over 30 years of experience, Tina is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles and find relief from TMJ discomfort. She especially enjoys working in the lab, crafting orthotic appliances like night guards, retainers, TMJ guards, and handling denture repairs and relines.
Outside the office, Tina enjoys bowling, fishing, kayaking, and traveling. She and her husband—a talented Cajun chef—share their home with two rescue dogs. Her daughter is an accomplished musician, a source of great pride and joy.
Registered Dental Assistant
Avery
Avery graduated from Remington College in 2015 and has been working in Dentistry since 2019. She has 7 years of experience in Oral Surgery before making her transition into General Dentistry. She enjoys making sure patients feel calm and cared for every step of the way. When she is not working she enjoys going on small hikes with her husband, spending time with her family, watching college football or reading a good book.
Patient Care Coordinator
Carol
Carol brings a diverse background in customer service and healthcare to her role as Patient Care Coordinator at Serenity Dental in Lebanon, TN. With 10 years of experience in tourism and travel, followed by 14 years as a medical biller, she transitioned into the dental field in 2019 after relocating to Tennessee. Carol joined Serenity Dental in 2024 and takes pride in building relationships with patients and helping them feel comfortable and cared for. Outside the office, she enjoys country music, hockey, and photography
Office Manager
Alyssa
Alyssa is the Office Manager at Serenity Dental in Lebanon, TN. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and began her career in senior living before transitioning into dental care. Since joining Serenity Dental in 2022, Alyssa has been dedicated to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
Outside of the office, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her husband, their three children, and their three dogs. She loves gardening, reading, and making the most of family life.
